I have attempted to make fudge for years and it just never went right. I read an article that said I had to bring my mixture to the boil and every time I tried it I ended up with a caramelly gloopy mess. I eventually perfected my fudge recipe no boiling in sight and it has been so popular with friends and family.
Anyway, back to this recipe, Munchie fudge. I actually impulse bought the Munchies there not something I would usually buy but they are delicious. If you have never come across them before Munchies are chocolate squares filled with caramel and a biscuit base.
You can make this fudge using any chocolate sweet you like just make sure you cut it up into small chunks. For this recipe, I used a 9in x 9in square tin if you use one bigger than your fudge might be flatter and if you use smaller than your fudge might be chunkier.
To make fudge is super easy compared to the whole boiling method I read about. I add a tin of condensed milk and the chocolate to a pan and on a medium heat melt the chocolate and mix with the condensed milk. I then add icing sugar to make the mixture thick and gloopy and finally add in the munchie bites, put it in the fridge overnight to set and it is as easy as that! Once the fudge is set I cut mine into 25 squares.
I used milk chocolate in this recipe but you can quite easily replace it for dark or white chocolate or even a mix of half milk half dark chocolate.
The fudge will last in an airtight container in the fridge for around 2 weeks.
This recipe will make 25 squares
397g Condensed Milk
400g Milk Chocolate
100g Icing Sugar
- Line a 9 x 9inch square baking tin with parchment paper and leave to one side.
- Cut up the Munchies. I cut some of mine in half, some in quarters and left some whole. Leave to one side.
- In a saucepan add the condensed milk and chocolate, melt on a medium heat. Make sure you stir it often so it doesn’t stick or burn to the bottom of the pot.
- Once the chocolate has completely melted, add in the icing sugar and fold it through. It might take a minute or two to completely incorporate but the mixture should become thick and gloopy.
- Finally, fold in 300g of the Munchies and mix until they are evenly distributed. Pour the mixture into the pre-prepared tin and smooth. Make sure it is all evenly distributed and finish by adding the remained of Munchies and some sprinkles.
