Valentines Day Gift Guide

This is the first time I have ever written a gift guide post on my blog. I decided to try and make one because there are millions of gift guides out there if your partner likes fashion, beauty or just little nick knack’s but there were none really out there for people who love baking! I hope you like it. There are lots of ideas for gifts including subscription boxes, classes and just general bits and bobs that every baker needs or would love as a gift.

Subscription Boxes

I first started receiving these boxes about a year ago. They are brilliant for beginner bakers or anyone who just likes to bake. The boxes are £8 per month. The payment is taken at the beginning of every month by direct debit and the box is usually posted out in the middle of each month. The box contains all the dry ingredients for a different and delicious bake each month. Past bakes include carrot cake cookies, raspberry Eton mess cake, and Chocolate Cheesecake Brownies.

Each month you will receive an email with what wet ingredients you need to buy in time for your box coming but it won’t tell you what you will be baking until you open the box and get the recipe card. Meaning that each month is a complete surprise.

Bakedin also have a closed Facebook group just for members of the club where you can post pictures of your bakes, ask questions, and make friends. You can also buy previous boxes on their websites as a one-off if you would like to try one of the bakes out before you subscribe. Finally, Bakedin offers gift subscriptions, in 3, 6, and 12-month options. They will send out the first box immediately along with a gift certificate and unique code for the recipient to activate the remaining boxes.

IcedJem #CakeClub

Arabian Nights Box

This is one of my favourite monthly boxes. Iced Jems is an online shop, they also have a shop based in Stoutbridge. There monthly cake club box it is £12.95 per month. Payment is taken on the 1st of each month by direct debit and your box is usually posted out on the 7th of each month. The box has a different theme and contains lots of new and exciting products. The products that come in the box are all new to Iced Jems so you don’t have to worry about having duplicates. February’s box is Arabian Nights themed and although you won’t know what the products are in each box there are usually hints about what you can expect, such as sprinkles, cutters, stencils and mats.
