Basic Cupcake Recipe

I have never had a blog before and I wasn’t sure where to start. Should I just jump straight in and post my creations or should I move a bit slower and start with the basics?

I decided as a tester to make sure I knew how to work this blog (tech is not my thing) I would post a very basic recipe first. This is the recipe I use for all my cupcakes, it is foolproof and I get perfect cupcakes every time.

This recipe makes 12. 

Ingredients

125g self-raising flour

1 tbsp baking powder

125g caster sugar

125g unsalted butter

2 medium eggs

1tbsp milk

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C (180C fan oven) gas mark 6. Line a cupcake/muffin tin with 12 cupcake cases
  2. Put the flour, baking powder, sugar, butter, eggs and milk into a mixture bowl and beat with a hand-held electric whisk or until the mixture is pale and very soft. Half fill each paper case with the mixture.
  3. Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Transfer onto a wire rack and leave to cool completely.
